STREAMLIGHT® LAUNCHES POLYTAC® X FLASHLIGHT
New Tactical Light Features High Lumens, Multiple Battery Options

 

EAGLEVILLE, PA  – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, announced it has added a new model to its PolyTac® line of tactical lights to include an enhanced, dual fuel version. The new light, the PolyTac® X, features 600 lumens, and offers the versatility of a rechargeable battery option.

The light can be powered by either two 3-volt CR123 lithium batteries or one Streamlight rechargeable 18650 lithium ion battery. This multi-battery option allows for use of primary disposable batteries if the rechargeable cell is out of power.

“With its battery versatility and powerful lumen rating, the new PolyTac X is among the brightest and most adaptable polymer tactical lights on the market today,” said Streamlight Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Michael F. Dineen. “It is ideal for everything from conducting searches in low light to lighting up an outdoor trail to repairing equipment. Even when a charging source is not available, you can use disposable batteries, ensuring that you will never run out of power in any situation.”

The PolyTac X uses a power LED to provide three lighting modes:  high, medium, low, and strobe.  Regardless of battery source, the light delivers 600 lumens on high, 11,485 candela, and a 205-meter beam distance, which is enough to provide critical lighting for a range of tactical uses.  When using CR123A batteries, run times range from 2.75 to 34 hours; when using the 18650 battery, they range from 3.5 to 36 hours.  On the strobe setting, run times are 5.5 hours and 8 hours, respectively.

The light’s TEN-TAP® programmable push-button switch allows users to select from three programs: high/strobe/low (factory default); high only or low/medium/high.

The PolyTac X is exceptionally durable, featuring a case made of high impact super tough nylon polymer that also provides a sure grip.  It weighs 4.34 ounces and measures 5.46 inches.

The new light features an IPX7-rated design, providing waterproof operation to 1 meter for 30 minutes, and is impact-resistant tested to 3 meters.  It is available in black, yellow, or coyote.

Streamlight offers an optional 18650 Battery Charger that can recharge either one or two batteries simultaneously, and permits charging through either AC/DC or USB power sources.

The PolyTac X has an MSRP of $75.00.  It is packaged with two CR123 batteries and a removable pocket clip and comes with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime warranty.

Over $400,000 to SCTP & SASP Teams in 2017 through Vision 20/20

The 2017 Vision 20/20 campaign is in the books and has raised the bar for Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) local team fundraising efforts. Participating teams raised a total of $134,706 from October through December for the 2017 campaign. Through these fundraising efforts, participating teams receive a total of $59,241 in cash grants from the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation and a MidwayUSA Foundation team endowment account benefit of $353,697! Total SCTP and SASP team benefit for the 2017 campaign is $412,938!

“Our teams worked hard and were creative on this campaign to generate donations and at the same time promote community awareness about the positive benefits of youth shooting sports in their community,” said Ben Berka, President and Executive Director of the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation. “One team sent in $10,000 generated from a simple tip-jar at their host gun club! Another small-town team solicited only local businesses and received over $7,500 in donations with the average donation being $345! Others did email solicitation campaigns and social media efforts to reach team supporters near and far.”

Vision 20/20 provides local SCTP and SASP teams with a way to raise funds locally and provides cash needs for today through an SSSF cash grant in January 2018 and funding needs for perpetuity via donations to SCTP and SASP team endowment accounts at the MidwayUSA Foundation. For every ten dollars received by the team, the team receives a cash grant of $5 and up to $25 to their team endowment account through generous match funding.

The donations and matching funds from SSSF to MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment Accounts established to benefit SCTP and SASP member-teams are made possible, in part, by grants to the SSSF from the Tulsa Community Foundation Youth Shooting Fund established and funded by the generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield.

“The generous match funding and the perpetuity of an endowed account was a real driver for local team success in this campaign,” Berka said. “There are not very many community sports teams who can knock on a potential donor’s door and offer match funding for their donation AND guarantee that their donation will be used to support the team FOREVER via an endowed account. Our partnership with the MidwayUSA Foundation helps our SCTP and SASP teams do just that!”

The Team Endowment Program at the MidwayUSA Foundation gives a community the ability to financially support a competitive youth shooting sports program at the high school and college level. The team can then request a grant of up to 5% of their endowment account balance once each year, in either June or December, to pay for team expenses.  There are no fees associated with a MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment.

The SSSF’s Vision 20/20 campaign is a multi-year fundraising effort started in 2016 with the goal to grow national youth participation in the Scholastic Clay Target Program and Scholastic Action Shooting Program to over 20,000 student athletes annually by the year 2020. In partnership with industry partners, civic organizations, member teams and donors the SSSF will provide the opportunity and funding for more students to join existing shooting teams and create new teams where none exist today. Expands Color Options, Adds New Tech For Award Winning Bows

COVINGTON, Georgia — “Change Or Get Left Behind” has been the mantra of Georgia-based Obsession Bows since it exploded on to the archery scene five years ago and the award-winning manufacturer does it again in 2018 with the new Fixation and Final Pro X bows.

An all-new riser design for 2018 reduces bow flex during the draw cycle, enabling absolutely superior accuracy, while a new Anti-Torque Cable Rod reduces cam lean and torque. All three bows utilize Obsession’s Two-Track cam design (Patent No. 7997259) for an unmatched smooth draw.

Obsession’s newest target entry is the Final Pro X. With a 7 3/16-inch brace, axle-to-axle length of 38-inches and IBO speeds up to 330 FPS, the Final Pro X and its DE Cam is poised to consistently put shooters on the medal stand in 2018. It weighs in at 4.3 pounds and is available in draw lengths from 26.5-inches to 31-inches. MSRP is $1099.

Field & Stream Magazine’s 2017 Gear of the Year pick for compound bow, the Obsession Turmoil, will feature the new Hybrid RZ Cam with Rotating Draw Mods which enable half-inch incremental changes in draw without the need for a bow press. “The Turmoil raised the bar on what is expected in a mid-priced bow and with speeds up to 350 FPS, the new Turmoil RZ is poised to blow the roof off those expectations,” proclaimed Lewis. The Turmoil RZ also features the new Anti-Torque Cable Rod and weighs in at 3.8 pounds. Additional specifications include a 6.5-inch brace, 33″ axle-to-axle length and draw lengths from 24-inches to 30.5-inches.

The Final Cut, Huracon and Hemorrhage DE will all sport the new Anti-Torque Cable Rod as well.
