Grants can make a dramatic difference to a community’s ability to deliver quality public outdoor recreation opportunities. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources administers several grants – the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, the Land and Water Conservation Fund and the Recreation Passport programs – available to municipalities for this use.
