Duck numbers are up, and wetland habitat conditions have improved over important portions of the key prairie pothole region. The breeding population of ducks was estimated at 33.99 million, a 5% increase over last year, according to the 2024 Waterfowl Population Status report released today by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
