The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced that the organization has commenced appellate briefing at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Poway Weapons & Gear v. California Attorney General Rob Bonta, FPC's challenge to California's ban on firearm purchases by adults under the age of 21.

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and its partners have filed their opening appellate brief with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in PWGG v. Bonta (formerly Jones v. Bonta), SAF's challenge to California's firearm purchase ban for adults under 21 years old.

Three states will enjoy enactment of bills that advance knife rights. Knife Rights' bills signed into law earlier this year take effect in Tennessee, Idaho and Vermont.

Under Vermont's newly-passed Act 47 of 2025 the sale of pond slider turtles, which includes the popular red-eared slider, is subject to new restrictions starting July 1, 2025. Pond sliders are the most popular turtle sold in pet stores nationwide. They are also an invasive species that competes for food and habitat with native species like the painted turtle.
