Whitetails Unlimited issued grants totaling $637,480 fostering their DEER (Developing Educational and Environmental Resources) Program this past fiscal year.

Applications for Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grants will be accepted from Nov. 12 to Jan. 16. RTP is a federally funded grant program administered through Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks that awards approximately $1.5 million annually.

The Wisconsin DNR and the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin (NRF) announce that over $100,000 from the Cherish Wisconsin Outdoors Fund will be supporting six habitat projects on public lands this year in Dane, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Ozaukee and Wood counties.

Spring and summer brought little additional moisture, and prolonged heat deepened drought conditions. Reservoir levels across the Southeast Region dropped sharply, prompting Idaho Fish and Game to order fish salvages at Glendale, Foster, and Johnson reservoirs. American Falls Reservoir was drawn down to just 3% of capacity.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will begin accepting applications for the 2026 commercial and recreational Apalachicola Bay oyster harvest season on Nov. 10. Those interested can apply anytime between Nov. 10-Dec. 16, for the upcoming 2026 season, which will run from Jan. 1-Feb. 28.

To restore this lost reef habitat Saginaw Bay once had, the DNR and many partner organizations worked together on a portfolio of reef habitat projects, including the recently completed Channel Island Reef.

Idaho Fish and Game is seeking the public's help in gathering information regarding three separate cases of wasted wildlife that occurred recently in Unit 33. Idaho Fish and Game officers are investigating all three cases and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Thanks to numerous tips from the public, Fish and Game conservation officers conducted an investigation that resulted in four individuals—two Idaho residents and two nonresidents—being charged with multiple alleged wildlife violations.

Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) took action to stop illegal hunting during the state's annual black bear hunt, held Oct. 20-25 in Allegany, Frederick, Garrett, and Washington counties. Officers cited several individuals for one or more violations.

Vermont game wardens are appealing for help in curtailing poaching activities. They are asking for people who witness or believe they have knowledge of poaching to contact them quickly.
